A Guide for C-suite Executives

A revolutionary approach to leadership that can increase your influence in the C-suite space is living a life with intention and purpose.

What do I mean by saying this? I mean working on your personal development and learning about yourself:

  • What are your top values?

  • What is your own definition of those values?

  • Why are those values so important to you?

  • What are the implications of honoring those values in the long run?

  • How can those contribute to or serve to elevate yourself and your organization?  

  • How can those values create a win-win scenario?

This process changes everything! 

If you are consistent with your actions and leadership and aligned with what you want—what you say and do—your people will trust you. 

Adopting intentional and purposeful leadership allows you to lead with authenticity.  When you can use this to influence and empower people around you, you will create a ripple effect because, simultaneously, you will be fostering an intentional culture inside your company.

If you are a chief executive, understand that you have a unique chance to make a lasting impression. 

  • First, consider the legacy you wish to leave behind. 

  • Second, clarify the essential values needed to follow the future roadmap. 

  • These are critical for the future leadership and success of your company.

By articulating your legacy, you can make decisions consistent with your vision. 

Your step-by-step guide:

Create awareness: Spend time analyzing your intentions, motives, and values, and clarify your strengths and weaknesses. Recognizing your derailers and, at the same time, accepting criticism will provide essential tools for your own development and growth. A thorough understanding of oneself enables you to make decisions in your personal and professional lives that are genuine and consistent with your fundamental beliefs.

Part of creating awareness means adopting the mindful practice of putting your focus and attention in the moment. Take brief periods of time to connect with yourself when you make this part of your routine. You will increase your capacity to observe and envision the future and assess its nuances.  

Take Action: Be consistent with your plans. Consistency is gained through repetition. When you are honest and honor your values and truth, shown through your actions, you are creating trust. This is everything in an organization.

Genuine leadership has a powerful pull that encourages participation, loyalty, and trust. Being personable and sincere in your interactions and choices is essential. Genuineness encourages truthful relationships with colleagues and your team, improving work interaction and synergy while increasing team performance.

Self-evaluate: Periodic check-ins are always a great tool to ensure you are on track and periodically compare your everyday decisions. Reflect on your actions and address your expectations, goals, and objectives for the year.

Are you putting your time and effort where the biggest difference is needed? (If not, you should reevaluate your priorities.) It's easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day hectic world of c-suite leadership, with so many duties, meetings, and strategic choices to be made. As a C-suite leader, you can change your company's culture. You can become your team's empowerment officer.

  • It means someone who will always think with a win-win mindset.

  • Bringing the best intentions and values to the table. 

  • Someone who will always look for the brilliance in others.

  • A genuine individual believes in their team and simultaneously has the capacity to share conflicts, disagreements, and misunderstandings in a way that brings out the best in everyone.

  • Someone who accepts others and their flaws and encourages their organization to move forward

  • Someone who finds meaning in their work and strives toward a common goal.

Intentional leadership is more than just a catchphrase; it's a deeply meaningful way of living that can change your organization, life, performance, and leadership style. It entails coordinating your behaviors and choices with your values and objectives to create a sense of fulfillment and purpose beyond the boardroom.
